Made In. April-May 2005
Debuted. FanimeCon 2005
Info. This costume is a sign of G-Mal's greatness as a boyfriend. It's also a sign of how secure he is with his masculinity. XD This costume was the result of--not surprisingly--me wanting G-Mal to cosplay from the same series as me. I was making an Eternal Sailor Venus costume, and I was trying to think of a suitable male character G-Mal could be. I had always thought the design for Human Artemis was cute (if a bit silly with that ridiculous jacket), and since Artemis was Venus' cat afterall, I thought it would be cool if G-Mal did that outfit. Also, I hadn't seen too many Human Artemis cosplayers out there, and while at first a little hesitant G-Mal eventually came around and was game, so we went for it. In retrospect, he probably would have made an awesome Kunzite (and we'd have the romantic angle to play with), but maybe we'll do those costumes later on down the line.

At the time of making this costume, I was still very much a n00b when it came to sewing, so the complexity of the jacket was a daunting task. I'm pretty proud of my englneering of the belly-hole and straps on the jacket, considering how little experience I had. One pitfall in terms of construction was that poor G-Mal could barely raise his arms at all (I must have missed a step in the pattern, or something...). This was the first time I had experimented casting something in resin; while the original sculpture of the crescent moon pendant was nearly perfect, the resin cast I made of it was nearly a disaster. -.-;; I managed to salvage it, and it turned out okay. Most amusingly, G-Mal had to Nair his belly hair. XD But it was worth it, because G-Mal got a lot of attention in this costume and we had loads of fun together!
