Chii (Original Design) from Chobits

Info. Who doesn't love the amazing character/costume designs of CLAMP? I'm not very creative when it comes to designing outfits, but I watched Chobits and was inspired to design a Chii costume. Around the same time, I found an extra-long blond wig on sale, and on a whim I went ahead and bought it. I also remembered that I had bought 5 yards of a gorgeous black brocade years ago that I had never used; with WonderCon around the corner and no new costumes to wear, I said "Why the hell not?" and made this costume.

I don't know why, but this was a costume I just needed to get out of my system. After wearing it once, however, I realized that this was not a costume that meshed well with me and my usual style. I never seemed to be satisfied with how I looked in it, no matter how many pictures I saw. I decided to wear it one more time, with the plans of selling it after Anime Expo; my friend Godly, who is an incredible photographer, was nice enough to do a photoshoot with me at AX. When I got back the pictures, I was blown away--they were fantastic!!! It was truly the first time I liked the way I looked in the costume. After that, I had second thoughts about selling it, but then my cousin came to visit me and when she saw the costume, she fell in love with it. I put it on her and took some pictures of her in it, and it looked so fabulous on her--and she loved it so much--that I just gave the costume to her! Now I have some awesome pictures of the costume, and the costume has a happy home. :)
