Sohma Yuki from Fruits Basket

Info. Fruits Basket is such a darling series! I'm kind of selective when it comes to shojo series, but Fruits Basket will make even the coldest heart melt. XD Yuki is totally my favorite character (Yuki/Tohru OTP, I don't care what you say!!!), as he's sweet and gentle but has that dangerous streak in him (as opposed to Kyo, who is just plain obnoxious sometimes). Me and Yuki are also both Year of the Rat in the Chinese Zodiac, so I think that makes me feel a little more connected to him.

The costume was a piece of cake to make (as opposed to G-Mal's Ayame costume -.-;;), but I did get the stupid harebrained idea to make my own bias tape so that it would match my tie (it turned out to be a big fat pain in the ass). Stupid stupid stupid. I don't know what I was thinking, since there's so much pre-made BEAUTIFUL bias tape out there. :P I found a great pair of brown clunkers to go with the costume (I found a picture of Yuki wearing brown shoes, so I went with that), and a grey wig that worked out okay (although, to this date it's the crappiest wig I've ever worn). I always perceived Yuki's hair to be grey with a hint of lavender it in, so I followed a recipie using FW Acrylic Artist Ink and tinted it to a light purple (my first time using wig dyes!). This wig was so short, and the cap so small that I had to braid my hair and stuff it down the back of my shirt (my hair at the time was really, REALLY long). I had a blast wearing this costume, since it's so easy and comfortable, and a whole bunch of my friends have Fruits Basket costumes so I get to play with them.
